Arne Slot conceded that it's understandable for concerns to be asked about his position after another heavy defeat against PSV Eindhoven.
The Reds suffered their ninth loss in 12 matches, representing the club's poorest run since being relegated in 1953-54.
They were taken apart by the Eredivisie champions on a punishing night at Anfield.
“I'm confident, I'm fine, I've received significant backing from above,” Slot stated.
“It's important to change things and earn three points of course but when you're in a managerial role and struggling then it's expected that doubts arise.”
He continued, “I am OK with my situation. This isn't the first time I’ve been in a difficult position but it is about time that we turned it around.”
Upon being questioned to expand on his discussions with the team officials, Slot revealed:
“There's regular dialogue. They are helpful to the team and to me and we discuss these matters but they don’t call me every single minute each day to say they back me.”
He added, “In the normal exchanges I feel the belief. But I've not talked to them since this defeat so far so it remains to be seen.”
Slot lamented recurring shortcomings from his Liverpool side in their Champions League loss, namely missed opportunities and leaking goals.
Meanwhile, midfielder Curtis Jones was more direct in his evaluation of the club’s predicament.
“I don’t have the answers. Frankly, I do not. I'm telling that to everybody,” the midfielder stated.
“It is unacceptable. I don't have to wait to consider it. I’m past feeling anger internally. I’m at the point now where I just don’t have the vocabulary.”
He continued, “It’s hard because I’m playing for the club I love. I'm a supporter, and I’ve seen Liverpool for years.”
“In recent memory, I haven’t experienced a Liverpool team enduring a spell like this with results so bad.”
He concluded, “However we continue to wear the crest on our shirts. And as long as it is removed, we'll continue to compete.”
“We’re going to try to help the side back to the top, show everyone again what this club is about and why it's known as the greatest side in the planet.”
“At this moment, we’re in the shit and it needs to change.”
