President Trump Invites Loved Ones of Injured Guard Personnel to the Presidential Residence

Former President Trump stated on the weekend that he has asked the loved ones of a Guard member fatally shot last week to attend the White House.

He added that he spoke to her family and they were “heartbroken”.

Details on the Tragic Event

Soldier Sarah Beckstrom, twenty years old, was fatally shot in a attack on Wednesday in Washington DC.

Her comrade, US air force staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, twenty-four years old, continues receiving treatment in critical condition.

Gatherings across West Virginia have taken place in their remembrance.

White House Invitation

The president stated he’s discussed a White House visit for the parents of both members of the state Guard.

“I stated: ‘When you’re ready, because that’s a hard experience, visit the White House. We’re going to recognize her,” the president told the press. “And in the same way with him, recover or not.”

Community Reaction

Attendees gathered over the past few days at a local school in the state to remember Sarah.

Both the soldiers had been working with the military unit as part of the president’s government program to aid policing efforts in the capital.

Honoring the Soldier

“Sarah was the kind of student that instructors hoped for. She carried herself with quiet strength, a contagious smile and a upbeat demeanor that encouraged those around her,” Hankins, the head of Beckstrom’s former high school, informed the Associated Press. “She was sweet, caring and always ready to help others.”

Funeral details for Beckstrom are yet to be finalized.

Judicial Steps and Government Changes

Law enforcement have charged a twenty-nine-year-old individual from Afghanistan with one count of first-degree murder and two counts of attempted murder while carrying a weapon.

The event led the government to halt asylum applications and cease providing entry permits to owners of Afghan passports.

Condition of Andrew Wolfe

Andrew Wolfe, a native of Martinsburg, began his service in early 2019 and is a graduate of his local high school, according to the AP.

He remains under medical supervision and is “fighting for his life”, the state’s leader Morrisey said on Fox News Channel’s The Sunday Briefing.

Attorney general the attorney general informed the program that she planned to speak to Wolfe’s family.

Memory of the Fallen Soldier

Beckstrom, from Summersville, graduated from Webster County High in mid-2023 and began her service not long after, serving as a law enforcement officer with excellence, as stated by the state guard.

“She had a lot of kindness and she absolutely had bravery,” Morrisey informed the crowd at the memorial. “Though her life lasted far too short, she has created a legacy that’s going to last forever.”
