Loyal supporters of Ariana Grande are calling for that a man who jumped a barrier and seized the performer during Thursday's Wicked: For Good premiere be arrested or deported from Singapore.
A viral video shows the person identified as Johnson Wen bypassing camera operators and rushing toward Grande while the actors proceeded down a yellow carpet surrounded by supporters.
Cast member Cynthia Erivo quickly wrested the stunned performer away from Mr Wen, who was spotted being escorted out of the event by event staff.
Mr Wen stated on Instagram recently that he was "let go after being taken in", though court documents revealed that he was set to attend court on the next day. It is not clear if he was formally accused.
This is not the first time for Mr Wen, who calls himself a "Troll Most Hated", has disrupted a concert or event. His Instagram account includes clips of him interrupting other celebrity events, including jumping on stage at Katy Perry's Sydney performance in earlier this year and in a like fashion during The Chainsmokers performance in the area last year.
"Measures must be taken enforced against him as this is obviously a legal violation," stated an Instagram commenter, in a response to a video Mr Wen posted of his actions.
"You've done this repeatedly... how are you not behind bars?" a different Instagram user wrote.
Numerous supporters blamed Mr Wen for "triggering past anxiety" Grande, who had discussed dealing with trauma-related anxiety after a terrorist explosion at the finale of her spring 2017 show in Manchester, killing 22 people and harming many.
"After everything she's faced... including the Manchester attack, you considered it entertaining to rush the barrier?" said another message on Instagram.
Several supporters also faulted event staff at the gathering for not being vigilant enough; while others demanded social media platforms to ban Mr Wen's content.
In videos shared widely, Grande seemed shocked when she was touched by the individual. Her fellow actors Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be spotted reassuring her while Mr Wen was escorted away by guards.
Grande has remained silent on the incident, and the premiere activities carried on uninterrupted.
Hundreds of supporters had gathered in a crowd of green and pink at the Wicked: For Good regional debut in a Singapore mall, including some who had waited for as long as eight hours before it started.
The film, to be premiered on 21 November, is the follow-up of a dual adaptation of the well-known theatrical musical Wicked, which revolves around the unlikely friendship between two contrasting witches.
The show itself is a derivative of the 1900 book The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.
Grande, who portrays the good witch Glinda, was adorned in a light pink glittering gown at the event while Erivo, who plays the wicked witch, wore a black tube gown featuring roses.
They were accompanied by cast member Jeff Goldblum.
The first movie, Wicked, was the most successful film of last year in the UK, and scored ten award recognitions, earning two for excellent wardrobe and artistic direction.
