Ex- Physician Accused of Sexual Assault Allegations Involving Thirty-Eight Patients

Prosecutors have stated that a former physician has been charged with performing sexual assaults involving 38 victims who were under his care.

The Serious Allegations

Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham faces allegations of dozens of sexual offences – including some against minors under the age of thirteen – spanning the period from 2017 and 2021.

One deputy chief prosecutor commented, “Legal teams have diligently worked to support a detailed and complex investigation, meticulously examining the evidence to determine that there is sufficient evidence to bring the case to trial and that it is in the public interest.”

The Police Inquiry

These allegations come after what police described as a “detailed inquiry” into reported assaults at medical facilities: the Royal Stoke university hospital and Russells Hall hospital.

Spencer is due to appear at the local magistrates' court on January 20th.

List of Charges

Prosecutors outline the 45 charges he is charged with:

  • 15 counts of sexual assault.
  • Seventeen counts of assault by penetration.
  • 9 counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
  • 3 counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
  • One count of attempted penetrative assault.

Police are urging anyone with concerns to get in touch with the relevant police force.
