Raducanu made it to the third stage in three out of four Grand Slam events this year.

Emma Raducanu from Great Britain will not compete in the last two tournaments of the year due to a medical condition that has affected her in recent days.

Raducanu, aged 22 had planned to participate in tournaments in Tokyo and Hong Kong but opted to return home to recover before starting plans for the 2026 season.

Her upcoming training will include trainer Francisco Roig, as the pair have agreed to work together again next season.

She had her blood pressure taken while playing the initial match versus Ann Li in the Wuhan tournament and withdrew when losing 6-1 4-1 on an oppressively humid day.

She needed once more a visit from the doctor at this week's Ningbo Open, where she lost in three sets to Chinese wildcard Zhu Lin in the opening round.

Her movement was far from freely in the final set in the match with Zhu owing to the lower back problem that has been a concern during parts of the season.

Such performances followed a positive campaign, in which she climbed into the international top 30 after more than three years since her previous ranking, concluded with three straight losses.

She held three match points then was defeated by Jessica Pegula in the third round in the Beijing tournament last month.

The player achieved 28 victories in the current season and advanced to the semis in Washington, but her most impressive week was at the Miami Open in March.

Ranked first in Britain made the last eight of a premier WTA event, beating eighth seed Emma Navarro en route before losing in three sets to fourth-ranked Pegula.

She worked with Mark Petchey between Miami and Wimbledon, with Roig assuming the role ahead of the US Open.

The initial agreement with the former trainer of Nadal was until the end of the season but they will keep working together, with a training session scheduled for the end of the year.

She mentioned that the trial session alongside Roig after Wimbledon was like a "black ops mission" as they aimed to maintain secrecy.

The player was close to defeating top-ranked Aryna Sabalenka at the first competition with Roig in Cincinnati during August.

Roig was also with Raducanu in the New York tournament, where she advanced to round three before being beaten by Rybakina, champion at Wimbledon in 2022.
